Your web space
Cornwall Internet provides its dial up customers with space on
a web server that may be used for low volume personal and small
business web sites.
Your web pages should be written in HTML and saved as plain ASCII
text. The file names should end in '.html' or '.htm' and your
main page should be called 'index.html'. It is a good idea to
include links to your secondary pages from your main page
(index.html).
Your web pages and graphics must use less than 5MB of disk space.
In the unlikely event that you need more space please contact
us.
If you would like us to design and/or build a web site for you
please refer to the
web sites
section of our web site.
Once you have completed your pages they can be uploaded to your
web space using a FTP client (there are a number of such clients
that are freely available to download from Internet sites such
as www.tucows.com).
To upload your web pages you need the following information:
ftp server address: ftp.swnet.co.uk
User name: Your email address
Password: Your password (the same one that you use for
email)
After your pages have been uploaded they can be viewed using the
URL: http://www.
domain/~
name where "
domain"
is the part of your email address after the '@' and "
name" is
the part of your email address before the '@'. Don't forget the tilde
(~).
For more information about writing web pages search the internet -
there are a huge number of web sites on the subject. We are sorry but
we cannot provide advice or support in relation to web sites
unless you use our
web site
service.
If the information above does not resolve your problem
